WESTONBIRT ARBORETUM  This world famous arboretum is within a 20 minutes drive and is well worth a visit, especially in the Autumn.

BERKELEY CASTLE  This Historic Ancestral Home where King Edward II was murdered is within 15 minutes drive.

WILDFOWL TRUST at Slimbridge.  Opening times vary according to season, please ask for details.

CHAVENAGE HOUSE AND NEWARK PARK These two local mansions are within easy reach. Both have extensive gardens and are well worth a visit.  They are both tucked away along the lanes and opening times vary, please ask for details.

ROCOCO GARDENS - Painswick. Six acres of garden and woodland. Opening times vary according to season, please ask for details.

HORSE RIDING. Riding stables are located at Chalford, (Hyde Riding Centre) which is around 30 minutes drive away Tel. 882413. Selsley Common  (Bown Hill Equestrian Centre) which is 20 minutes drive away Tel. 872144. Nailsworth (Barton End) Tel. 834915. 15 minutes away.

GLIDING AND FLYING. The Bristol and Gloucestershire Gliding Club at Nympsfield is very close to hand and if you prefer something with an engine feel ask for details.

SHOPPING. Bath, Bristol, Gloucester, Cirencester and Cheltenham are all within 40 minutes of The Swan and, besides a wide range of shops, each has many different attractions to offer.

SWIMMING, SQUASH AND BADMINTON Wotton has an open air pool that is open seasonally.

WALKS There are numerous local footpaths leading out of Wotton onto the surrounding hills and farmland and also the famous Cotswold Way.
